PRACTICE AREAS
Yew Chong practises in the area of commercial and corporate litigation, with special emphasis on banking law. In addition, he advises companies on Oil & Gas related matter and also companies on laws relating to industrial relations, corporate litigation (capital reduction and schemes of arrangements) and construction law (primarily with regards to highway concessions and acquisitions). He has also advised motor sports companies on the rules, regulations and ambit of motor sports laws (i.e. FIA International Sporting Codes and FIA International Court of Appeal).
QUALIFICATIONS
Yew Chong was an ASEAN Scholar and completed his “O” Levels and “A” Levels at Raffles Institution, Singapore and Raffles Junior College, Singapore respectively.
Thereafter, he completed his tertiary education in the United Kingdom and graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from Wales, United Kingdom. He was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 1995.
Yew Chong obtained his Certificate of Mediation from The Accord Group, Australia in 2009.
CAREER
Prior to practising law, Yew Chong worked as a legal advisor in one of the nation’s leading financial institutions.
Yew Chong is also a certified mediator and currently sits on the panel of the Malaysian Mediation Centre.
Since 2008, by appointment of the Advocates and Solicitors Disciplinary Board, Yew Chong has been chairing and sitting on the Advocates and Solicitors Disciplinary Committee to hear complaints filed against Advocates and Solicitors of Malaysia.
In 2012, Yew Chong was appointed as a Notary Public by the Attorney General’s Chambers of Malaysia.
Yew Chong has also been listed by The Legal 500, Asia Pacific as ‘a good advocate, with impressive interpersonal and negotiation skills’, particularly for banking litigation.

PRACTICE AREAS
Melynda specialises in the Property law and deals mainly with corporate and retail property conveyance. She currently heads the Projects Team and handles a diverse variety of housing developments.
QUALIFICATIONS
Melynda graduated from the University of London in 1994 with a Bachelor Degree in Law (2nd Upper Division).
In 1995, Melynda obtained her Certificate in Legal Practice and was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in November 1996.
CAREER
Melynda was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in November 1996. Thereafter she practiced in several firms wherein she honed her talents and decided to specialise in the law of property conveyance.
In December 2012, Melynda joined the Firm as a Partner heading the Real Estate and Property Conveyance Department. In January 2018, Melynda elected to be made a Consultant.

Irwan specialises in the field of Islamic Dispute Resolution and deals mainly with corporate and banking litigation matters. Irwan leads the Islamic Banking Recovery division and has handled many notable cases.
Irwan's other area of specialisation is in the realms of liquidation and receiverships.
QUALIFICATIONS
Irwan obtained his law degree from International Islamic University Malaysia (LLB (Hons) IIUM) in the year 2000 and was called to the Malaysian Bar in November 2001.
CAREER
Irwan worked in various reputable legal firms in Kuala Lumpur as a legal assistant and thereafter a Senior Associate before setting up his own legal practice under the name of Messrs Irwan & Co in June 2012.
Irwan joined the Firm as a Partner in April 2014 in the Dispute Resolution Department.

Justin practises in the area of commercial and corporate litigation, with special emphasis on banking law. In addition, Justin also assists in Corporate advisory matters.
QUALIFICATIONS
Justin graduated with a Bachelor of Laws from the University of London in 2006 and later completed the Certificate of Legal Practice in 2007.
CAREER
Justin read in the chambers of Messrs V Chong W Lam for 5 months and thereafter completed his remaining period with Messrs Azim, Tunku Farik & Wong.
Justin was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of High Court of Malaya in 2008 and then commenced practice with the Banking Litigation Department in Messrs Azim, Tunku Farik & Wong.
In 2009, Justin joined the Litigation Department of Messrs Albar & Partners as an Associate. In recognition of his excellent performance, Justin was promoted as a Senior Associate in 2012.
In 2013, Justin joined the Firm as a Senior Associate and was made a Partner in 2016 in the Litigation Department.

Rima specialises in Retail and Corporate Banking including Islamic Banking transactions, Sale and Purchase Agreements, Joint Venture Agreements, Concession Agreements, Probate and Administration matters, Commercial Loans, Share Sale Agreements and all other matters related thereto.
QUALIFICATIONS
Rima graduated with Bachelor of Laws degree LL.B (Hons) from University of Wales, Aberystwyth in 1999. She then passed the Certificate of Legal Practice (CLP) in 2000.
CAREER
Rima was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya on 7th December 2001 and was practising at Messrs Adam Bachek & Associates from 2001-2005 heading the Banking Litigation and Debt Recovery Department.
In 2005-2006 she joined Messrs NK Tan & Rahim and handled conveyancing and banking litigation. In 2006-2007, she then joined Messrs Raslan Loong whereby she handled corporate files and mergers and acquisition and due diligence for corporate clients. In 2007-2008, she was in Messrs Shahrizat Rashid & Lee where she handled mostly Islamic Banking matters and several high profile corporate matters.
Finally in 2009 up until she joined this firm, she was in Messrs Dennis Nik & Wong. She was a partner in the Corporate & Conveyancing Department handling mainly Project Financing, Sale and Purchase Agreement, Islamic Banking matters, Probate matters, Due diligence and several other related Corporate matters. Rima left her previous firm in September 2023 upon the demise of their managing partner, Mr Wong.
In December 2023, Rima joined the Firm as a Partner in the Conveyancing Department.

Denise graduated from the University of Liverpool with a LL.B. (Hons) degree in 2017. Upon completion of her degree, she elected to return to Malaysia and proceeded to obtain her Certificate in Legal Practice in 2018.
Denise joined Lee & Koh as a Pupil-in-Chambers in 2019 and read in the chambers of our Managing Partner, Koh Yew Chong. In the same year, Denise was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya.
Denise's love for the complexities of financial transactions and commercial transactions led her to be retained as an Associate in the Real Estate Department.
Denise has now dealt with a myriad of transactions which include cross border transactions, financial transactional documentation, project work as well as the regular property transfer and banking loan documentation.
A rising star amongst the Associates, Denise continues to impress.

Pei Ying graduated from the University of Reading with LL.B. (Hons) degree in 2014. She then obtained her Certificate in Legal Practice in 2017.
In 2015, Pei Ying gained her Diploma in International Arbitration from Brickfields Asia College and one of Certified Member of The Malaysian Institute of Arbitrators (MMIArb).
Pei Ying began her legal career by reading in the chambers of Messrs. Adnan Sundra & Low in Kuala Lumpur and was thereafter admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in November 2018.
After being called to the Malaysian Bar, Pei Ying enjoyed a short sabbatical, and in July 2019 Pei Ying joined Messrs. Cecil Abraham & Partners as an Associate.
Seeking to widen her horizons, Pei Ying then joined Messrs. Sivagurunathan & Co in July 2021 to practice as a Corporate lawyer.
However, she realized that her calling was in the litigative field and in August 2022, Pei Ying joined Messrs. Lee & Koh as an Associate and is currently one of the stalwarts in the Litigation Department.

EDEN graduated from the University of London with a LL.B. (Hons) degree in 2018. She then obtained her Certificate in Legal Practice in 2019.In April 2021, she was admitted and enrolled as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya.
Deciding not to embark immediately and dive headlong into the legal fraternity, Eden elected to start her journey by joining OCBC Bank as Litigation Officer in year 2019.Having thereafter deciding that she had gained sufficient exposure, she decided to continue with her legal career.
Eden read in the chambers of Messrs. Hock & Associates in Selangor and was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in April 2021.Eden then continued her legal practice at The Law Office of Anil & Tan as an Associate in Conveyancing department.
In April 2023, Eden joined Messrs Lee & Koh as an Associate and currently attached to Real Estate and Conveyancing department.

Amila was accorded an LL.B. (Hons) degree by the Universiti Teknologi MARA in 2020.Thereafter, she read in the chambers of Messrs. Ganesh & Co in Kuala Lumpur andwas admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2021.
Career
Amila was retained as an Associate in the litigation and conveyancing and continued her legal practice mainly in litigation at Messrs. Azmi Hussain & Co until June 2024.
Amila then decided to continued expanding her educational horizon and thus pursued her Postgraduate studies. She was subsequently conferred with a Postgraduate Diploma in Syariah Law and Practice by the Universiti Teknologi MARA in 2024.
In 2024, Amila decided to broaden her horizons and expand her knowledge in Syariah law and joined Messrs. Lee & Koh in the Dispute Resolution Department. Together with Irwan, Amila fronts the Islamic Banking Dispute Resolution Department.
